On a winter trip to New York City, I was inspired to take photographs—not of anything in particular, just the many structures and textures I found while walking around the city. It was a really cold, snowy and gloomy day outside, but I was able to capture many interesting images.
I selected the photographs with the strongest, most dynamic structures, edited them in Photoshop, and designed large-scale repeat patterns. I wanted to capture the feeling I had on that cold winter day, so I printed in black & white on silver-metallic paper to reinforce this. Patterns are 24 x 36 inches.
